This month I’m sharing a very feminine birthday card. Birthday cards are my most used card, so I like to stay ahead of the game with a stash of them in case a birthday sneaks up on me!
This is a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ basic layered top fold card. When I was unpacking (from my second move!) I found a folder of patterned papers that I obviously could not live without. That’s pretty funny because I almost NEVER use design paper. Well, buckle-up – you’re gonna be seeing some design paper from me ’cause I’m determined to use it up. You can see all the layers I used and I added my signature mulberry paper layer behind the main panel. Along with the bow, I used a layered bit of ribbon behind the main sentiment panel. I love that look. That’s a great way to use ribbon, and still keep the card flat for mailing if you omit the bow and flowers. I also added a few mulberry roses to the bottom of the sentiment.

My card is topped off with a pretty bi-color double loop bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using the pretty plaid ribbon from the February Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I topped the center of the bow off with a pretty Heart Shaped Pearl embellishment.

Now for my headband of the month:
This headband was created on a 1/2″ Ivory Plastic Headband using two of the 3/8″ plaid ribbons from the February Ribbon Club Assortment. Plaid works wonderfully for woven ribbon headbands.

Absolutely beautiful card. The soft, sweet, confectionary worthy hues here abound with the spirit of spring.

This is so lovely – I love all the pretty colours and that lovely ribbon – so nice to see mulberry paper being used to – I have lots and forgot what it was called lol! Thanks for sharing with us at 613 Avenue Create – I’m off to have a look around the blog hop.
You make some of the prettiest cards and headbands.

Beautiful card, love the shabby chic look! Thanks so much for playing at AAA Birthday!
I love your signature mulberry layer – hope you keep using it, as it has inspired me to use some too! You headbands are always the highlight for me. When I had long hair in my younger days, I would be making one to wear each time you did one, sigh those days are past for me. I’ll have to check out some friend with children and maybe work on some hair ornaments and bands for Christmas. Thanks!
The colors on your card are so soft and pleasing. This card just makes me happy. Thanks for this inspiration…much appreciated!
Beautiful card and cute hair bow. Love these ribbons.
Your card is DARLING, Bonnie. And the headband…. I still can’t make one. I’ve tried, and given up every time. You are the BEST at the headbands. Beautiful as always. What a great hop and a gorgeous Ribbon Club Assortment.
