Hi friends. Today I have a masculine card to share and yes, I included some ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon! My cards just don’t feel complete until I add some ribbon.
While I don’t usually go for bows on a masculine card, I think you can always incorporate ribbon and this is the perfect type of card to use up some of your shorter ribbon scraps.
I created the sentiment on my computer and I ran a strip of Metal Gray Diamond Satin across the center of the card under the sentiment and added a piece of 1/4″ Black Grosgrain on top of that. I cut the ends of the grosgrain in points for a more ‘manly’ look.
My favorite adhesive for attaching ribbon to my project is Scor-Tape. It works wonderfully on ribbon and it’s available in many different widths at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I wanted to play along with the Cheery Lynn Designs Masculine Challenge today, so I pulled out my dies to see what I could find with a masculine feel. I ended up selecting my Royal Scandinavian Doily and Burlap Border dies. I cut a piece of black cardstock a little larger than I wanted my finished piece to be. I covered the back of that with Stick It! adhesive and then used the small center square of the Scandinavian Doily to cut the background. I evenly spaced the little squares and cut out 6 on the background paper. I was looking for a wrought iron grate type look.
I’m entering my card in the following challenges:
Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Fabulous background you have created, Bonnie, very much like wrought iron. Great manly card! Good luck and thanks for joining in on the fun at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge.
This is SO awesome, Bonnie. Your cards always make me smile. I saw that one of your fabulous cards made the Top 3 this week at Crafty Ribbons. It's always nice to see the beautiful RRR ribbons shared at various blogs. You sure can rock a bow!

Thanks for playing with us at Mema's Crafts. Visit often and good luck in the challenge.
Very elegant male card, and I totally agree with you, there is no reason why you couldn't use ribbon on a male card and even better as you say, use up some smaller scraps of leftover ribbon. Great design! Thank you for entering the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge , “Anything Goes”. We hope to see you back again soon! Karola, DT, InvisiblePinkCards
