Hi there. It’s time for another fun challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog.
This time we have a MasculineTheme and don’t forget to add ribbons or trims to your project.
This time we have a MasculineTheme and don’t forget to add ribbons or trims to your project.
Believe it or not, when I created this card I had started with the intention of making a Mother’s Day card. Talk about going off-track – lol! I did actually end up with a Mother’s Day Card with a digital image off the same collage sheet which you can see here.
Anyway, this happens to me sometimes. I start out with one thing in mind and end up with something totally different. I liked how this was going, so I just kept working to see what I ended up with. I’m very pleased with the results.
I don’t feel like any project is ‘done’ without some sort of ribbon or trim on there, and it’s always a challenge to incorporate ribbon and trims on a masculine card and still have it ‘manly’ enough. I think this one works.
I ran a strip of Turftan Brown 7/8″ Satin with Grosgrain Edge Ribbon through the center of my card and then wrapped some Natural Burlap String over that. Then add the center image with some Candi Fix Foam Dots for a little dimension. I finished off the front of the card by lacing some Natural Burlap Sting though three Buttons along the bottom of the card. Sufficiently manly? I say YES!
I hope you’ll head over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog and play along with our challenge. Any type of project is welcome.
Thanks for stopping by!

Love the extra layers with the ovals and of course the dragonfly stamp you used. A great card with all those other details.
Saw this post in my e-mail feed (Yes, I do read them.) and I just had to drop by and tell you how cool it is!
Your ovals are very clever. Great card.
Bonnie this card is breath taking the dp you used, the print, the ovals( at first when I looked at the card I thought you had used acetate to mount the smaller oval ) and the ribbon what else can I say except is it appropriate to call a masculine card elegant….well I just did love it!
