New Sweetheart Themed Challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs this week

Hi friends.  This week we have a great new Sweetheart themed challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog.  I hope you’ll head over and link up a project to share with us.

I’ve used some more of the wonderful Cheery Lynn Designs new release dies today.  This gorgeous Quadrafoil Square Doily is my favorite of the new doilies.  You’ll probably be seeing it quite a lot.  I also love the fun Sweetheart Candy die cuts.  They look just like the real candy!

I topped the card off with a simple double-loop bow made from White Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The bow was created on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  The white layer with a feathery edge is mulberry paper.

Please head over to my YouTube Channel for more info on both.

Cheery Lynn Designs January 2016 New Release BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs January 2016 New Release Blog Hop.
We are so excited to introduce you to all the fabulous new dies available at Cheery Lynn Designs.

If you arrived here from Corina’s blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.

Follow through to the end of the hop and leave a comment on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog too for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate.

I started by creating a decorative base for my card using the new Deutschland Oval Doily and added pieces from the Deutschland Accents in the corners.  I then die cut the adorable Be Mine Teddy Bear in ivory and shaded him with with distress ink to give him some extra dimension.  I added scraps of black card stock behind the eyes and nose and pink behind the ears and the hearts on the back paws.  I then cut him out again in pink to use the center heart.  I cut the pink heart out and inserted it under the paws.  I also added a couple of pink Sweetheart Candies as well which are lightly shaded on the edges in pink.  I then created the ‘sentiment’ panel using the XOXOXO die mounted on the pierced banner surrounded by a small ivory border.  To create the fish-tail on both ends, cut your paper half way, the turn the die around matching up the holes.  Now cut the other side.

Really Reasonable Ribbon January Blog Hop

Welcome to the RRR January Blog Hop.
If you arrived here from Amber’s blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the RRR Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.
This month the Really Reasonable Ribbon Monthly Ribbon Club Assortment is a great mix for Valentines Day and beyond.  Great for a baby girl card, or any feminine card or whatever your ‘heart’ desires!
Not a member yet?  Why not JOIN TODAY and begin with this fun assortment.
What a great way to build your ribbon stash and try out different ribbon styles.
I just love pink – always have.  When I was a little girl I had a bedroom with pink carpet and paneling (it was the 1970’s, so yes – pink paneling!).  Creating cards for Valentine’s Day in shades of pink makes my heart happy.
I also love making paper flowers and I love this new Cuties 1 flower die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  What beautiful dimension.
My card is topped off with a fabulous bi-color double-loop bow which my regular blog visitors know if my favorite bow of all.  I used two of the ribbons from the January Ribbon Club assortment and made the bow on my Bow-it-All V2.0.
I also ran a strip of the white checkerboard satin topped with the quatrefoil print on hot pink satin ribbon also from assortment across the middle of the card under the sentiment panel for added interest.
For a video tutorial on how to create this bow, please click HERE.

Since I’m getting lots of questions again about the mulberry paper (the ‘fuzzy’ white paper layer), you can view a video tutorial on how I did that HERE.
I’m entering my card in the following challenges:
Now for my Headband of the Month.
This headband is again just the basic woven ribbon headband created with two ribbons from the January Ribbon Club Assortment on a 1/2″ white plastic headband base.  The difference in design is created by using three pieces of the quatrefoil on hot pink satin and one piece of white double-faced satin.  (Sorry the white satin on the headband weave looks pink in my photo.)  The white will be positioned in the upper left position when starting the headband weave.  The bow I attached is a simple double-loop bow created on my Bow-it-All V2.0.  I added a pretty 20mm pink Open Rose to the center.
For a video tutorial on how to create this headband, please click HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Your next stop is Nancy’s fabulous blog.

I would love for you to leave a comment before you go.
