Woven Ribbon Headband with a Twist Video Tutorial

Hi everyone.  Today I have a new headband variation for ya.  Yup, I’m headband obsessed!!

Today I’m making Woven Ribbon Headbands with a Twist!!

Don’tcha just LOVE it??!!

Here is my tutorial:

My samples are made using 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon in a variety of colors.  On a few of them I even used a print for an interesting effect.  You can use 1, 2 or 3 ribbon colors/patterns for your headband, but if you use more than 3 you tend to lose the look of the twist.  I used 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, but 3/8″ Satin Ribbon or even 3/8″ Gingham Ribbon would work as well.

The first four samples below are made using 3/4″ White Plastic Headbands and the bottom three are made with a 1/2″ White Plastic Headband.  A one inch headband would also work fine, I just prefer the narrow widths.

I hope you like these fun woven ribbon headband with a twist.

RRR July Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the RRR July Blog Hop.
If you arrived here from the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the RRR Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.
This month the Really Reasonable Ribbon Monthly Ribbon Club Assortment is Sizzlin’ Summer Citrus Colors. I just love all the fun bright colors. Isn’t it terrific??!

So, I’ve been on a headband kick lately, and I’ve got another one for you today.

This headband is done with the basic woven ribbon headband pattern on a 1/2″ Plastic Headband.  You can find the video tutorial for it HERE.  I used two ribbons from the July Ribbon Club Assortment and below is the beginning ribbon placement to get the striped pattern on the headband project this month.

I added a little gathered flower made from the sheer orange ribbon from the assortment.  Just take a piece about 18″ long and do a running stitch along one edge.  When I was about half way though, I coiled it around once and secured it with my thread.  Then continue your running stitch and coil it around one more time for a pretty little flower.  I then stitched it to my headband.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Your next stop is Judy’s fun blog.

I would love for you to leave a comment before you go.

RRR Challenge #75 ‘Anything But a Card & Ribbon’ Theme

Hi there.  Time for another fun challenge over on the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog.  This time around the theme is Anything But a Card and you need to use ribbon or trim on your project.
Today I have a few headbands to share using some fun new ribbon styles at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

The first two headbands are using a few of the new RRR Select Grosgrain with Silver edges and a 1/2 Inch White Plastic Headband.  Our Silver Edge Grosgrain  Ribbon is available in a 3/8″ width in 12 fun colors.  The top headband uses Light Orchid and Grape and is the Chevron Pattern.  If you’d like to give this fun project a try you can find a video tutorial HERE.

The next headband uses the RRR Select Grosgrain with Silver Edges in Pearl Pink and Hot Pink and is done in the basic woven ribbon headband pattern.  You can find a video tutorial for this HERE.

AND, I just had to whip up a quick headband using our latest stripe ribbon because you all know how much I love headbands using striped ribbon!  This headbands is also made with a 1/2 Inch Plastic Headband and our new Seaside Stripe Grosgrain.  Isn’t this a fun pattern?  This is also done using the basic woven headband pattern and just the one ribbon.  LOVE. IT.!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope your join in our RRR ‘Anything But a Card’ Challenge.
