Halloween Bats and Christmas Tags with Beautiful Bows!

Hi everyone and Happy Halloween!
I hope you are all having a Spook-tacular Day!
First I’d like to share the Bat Party Favors I made for my son’s class.  He’s an elementary teacher and I always make treats for his kiddos.
This year I found some quick and easy bat designs for my Silhouette Cameo and went with them.  They are open at the top for goodies.  They went together really quickly and I filled ’em up with candy.
The handle is made with Black Jute String from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The plain one is for the boys.
I jazzed up the ones for the girls with a cute little bow made from 3/8″ Tangerine Double-faced Satin with my Bow-it-All Tool.  For our beginner Bow-it-All Video, click HERE.  You’ll be making gorgeous bows in no time!
I simply adhered the bow to the bat with Scor-Tape.
Christmas Tags
I also wanted to share another project I featured on my latest VIDEO TUTORIAL.
These fun Christmas Tags are from a Digital Collage sheet from my friend Ginny at Polly’s Paper Studio. You can find the collage sheet I used and more at the Polly’s Paper Studio Etsy Shop.
I used a couple of the bows I created in my last video tutorial and I enlarged one of the images to coordinate with the size of my bow.  I did these projects backwards and made the bows first and then made a project to showcase them.
The larger tag is made with our Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon and embellished with a Turquoise Sweetheart Blossom in the center.  I cut the tag image out and layered it on a piece of turquoise cardstock and then kraft cardstock. The tassel is made with Turquoise 20lb Hemp Cording.  I simply separated the 3-ply cording down to three individual strands and grouped them together for the tassel.
For the smaller tag, I layered and assembled the same as described above. The bow and tassel are made with Variegated 20lb Hemp Cording Earthy.  The center is embellished with a brad and the tassel is made in the same manner as the first one.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy Crafting!

Zutter Bow-it-All Tutorial * Embellished Bows with Unique Ribbons and Trims

Hello everyone!

Bonnie here from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I’m still having lots of fun with my Bow-it-All Tool from Zutter and today I’m going to share some fun embellished bows that I made with unique ribbons and trims that might not be your ‘go to’ styles when creating a bow.

BUT, they are really fun to work with!!

This card has been entered in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant – TPE 223 – Distressing/Paper Tearing
Party Time Tuesdays #144 – Anything Goes
My card is made with a great digital image from a collage sheet from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden.
The pretty bow is made with Pink and Natural Jute String and I threaded a 20mm Pink Open Rose through the center.  I really like how the rose softens up the shabby jute bow.  I used my Zutter Distrezz-it-All to distress the edges of my papers and the background is embossed with a swirly embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I lightly inked the swirl impressions with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
Here’s a close-up of my pretty bow.
I created another video so you can see exactly how I made my embellished bows.
If you already have a Bow-it-All Tool, you can work right along with me.

If you have one of these fabulous tools, I know you are loving it!
The possibilities are endless!!
I have so many ideas for new bows that I can’t wait to sit and experiment some more!
Be sure to head over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog to enter for a chance to win a Bow-it-All Tool!
The giveaway is open to US residents and you can enter until 11-10-13.
This pretty tag below is also made with a digital tag image from Ephemera’s Vintage Garden.  I printed 2 copies of the tag and used one for the tag and the second one I used to make my 3-Butterfly with the Spellbinders Grand Shapeabilities Donna Salazar Wonderful Wings set.
The bow is made from our Cream Mesh Ribbon and the tassel is a mix of fibers from the mesh ribbon and 20lb Variegated Hemp Cording Earthy.
I wanted the tassel to match the bow, so I took a short piece of the Cream Mesh Ribbon and started unraveling the thin monofilament that holds the fibers together.  This leaves just the wispy cream colored threads.  (You can see that same effect on the hairbow below).  I then took a couple of short pieces of the hemp cording and separated the 3-ply down to three individual strands to thin it out.  Then I mixed all the fibers together to make the tassel.
Below is a hairbow I made from a layered bow made with Light Blue Netting.  This bow would be nice for an older girl (or adult) for a more formal occasion.  It’s attached to a French Clip.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
