‘Back To School’ Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hi there.  It’s time for another fun challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog.

This time we have a Back to School Theme and don’t forget to add ribbons or trims to your project.

I used one of Heather’s fun collage sheets called Tiny Vintage Back To School along with digi sentiments from TLC Creations.  I ran a layer ribbon strip using 5/8″ Black Diamond Satin and 3/8″ Ruby Red Double-Faced Satin under the sentiment and I tied a beautiful double bow made from 7/8″ Red Gingham for the top of the card.  I lightly inked the gingham with Old Paper Distress Ink so it would go better with the kraft color cardstock.  The background is embossed with a Spellbinders Numbers and Letters embossing folder and I lightly inked it with black ink.

Here is a closeup of the gingham bow.
The inside sentiment is also from TLC Creations and it’s layered on several Spellbinder die cuts.  I also have a narrow strip of embossing using a Darice embossing folder.

This card has been entered in the following challenges:

I hope you’ll head over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings Blog and play along with our challenge.  Any type of project is welcome.
Thanks for stopping by!

Classic Birthday Card

Today I have a cleaner more classy looking card to share.

Maybe a little bit too much going on to call it CAS, but I tried to tone it down a bit.  I just love the ivory and purple color combo too.

And inside……
I ran a piece of 5/8″ Light Orchid Diamond Satin across the middle of the card under the sentiment and I twisted a Purple 20mm Open Rose around each side to give the ribbon a little bit of a gathered look.  I also added a little bit of shimmer to the butterfly with some Stickles although it really doesn’t show in the photo.
Here is a close-up of the double bow made with 5/8″ Light Orchid Satin with Grosgrain Edge Ribbon.  I also wrapped a Purple 20mm Open Rose around the center of the bow.
And…. a sweet little cluster of White Sweetheart Blossoms.
And here is the finished card.  It never shows up well in my photos, but the embossed background adds a subtle and elegant touch.
Now who will I give this card to……

Have Yourself a Blissful Beautiful Birthday!

Isn’t that a wonderful sentiment??
I made a little time for crafting this weekend and I was able to complete a few cards.  Man, it seems so much harder when you don’t craft on a regular basis.  After a few false starts, I ended up with something I like.
Here is a close up of the rouched ribbon made with 5/8″ Turquoise Checkerboard Satin from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I think it’s the perfect little touch.  Not too much, not too little…….
Here is a close up of my flower. This was a new little present to myself – The Azalea Paper Blossoms punch set from McGill.  I really like it and think I might need some more different kinds of flower punch sets.  Whaddaya think??  🙂
