Well hello crafty friends.  It’s been a while since I have posted and now when I’m getting ready to get back on track, the world has come to a stand still.  Seriously….  weird times for all of us.

I hope you and your family are staying safe and sane with all the togetherness.  We crafters knew that our craft hoarding would pay off one day, right?  I hope you are getting to enjoy your crafty stash.

So, where have I been?  Well, long time subscribers know that my life has been a disaster for the last two years (longer than that actually, but we will say 2 years).  If you missed all that and have any interest in the backstory to my personal drama, you can read a bit here and here.  If not, I don’t blame you….

So here’s what’s been going on with me this year.

After a 2+ year divorce process, selling my home of 31 years, having the court hold all the proceeds from the house sale until an agreement was finalized between me and my ex, being forced to find temporary housing and move twice, I am now finally settled in my new town and home.  I was just getting to the part where my son was going to help me design and construct my new craft room when the pandemic set in.  Seriously, I cannot get a break – hahaha.  Yup, it’s all about me. (eye roll).  I have been without a craft room since June of 2019 and I was not even able to unpack my crafty stuff as there was no room in my ‘in between’ home to even try to craft.  I’ve been holding off on unpacking my crafty stuff here to get my storage and counters set up first, but I guess I need a temporary crafting area for the time being.  It’s always something, isn’t it?

So, on the positive side, we (me and my Mom who lives with me) found a lovely home in the same neighborhood as my younger son which I am very grateful for.  He’s less than a half mile away which is perfect.  Close, but not so close as to be uncomfortable for him.  AND I adopted the cutest little rescue pup at the end of February, right before the pandemic mess started.  He is such a snuggle-bunny and he loves his Mom.  It feels nice to have someone who is so excited every time he sees me.  Below is a photo of us on the day I adopted him.  (You can follow Huck on Instagram if you want to see what we are up to each day:  https://www.instagram.com/hucklethepupper/

So, I’m ready to get crafting again and I’m going to try to get a temporary studio set up this weekend so I can at least access enough stuff to do some crafting.  And, like I said in a past post, I have been taking Adobe Illustrator classes and I hope to be offering designs on my blog soon.

So, that’s my news.  I hope to get back to sharing some crafty projects really soon.  I also want to work on this blog, but I’m so afraid I will do something wrong and lose the whole thing!  WordPress is sooo much harder than blogger, but I know it’s a better platform.  I just need to sit myself down and get my head in the game.

So crafty friends, what have you been working on in the last few weeks?  If you have kids home, I hope you are getting them in the craft room with you.  When my boys were younger, they crafted and baked and cooked with me.  They are actually still great cooks and bakers too when they want to be.  Crafting/art and cooking are great skills for kids to learn from a young age.

Wishing you all the best.  Virtual Hugs to All!!
