If you arrived here from Ginny’s Blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.

Be sure to hop through to the end and leave a comment on the post on the Cheery Lynn Desings blog answering one or more of the questions for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

Please humor me and try not to notice that the two projects I made would have photographed much better together if I had used the same gold cardstock (hanging head in shame).  In my defense, they would never be seen together since one is a card and one is either a gift tag or holiday ornament.  So much for planning ahead though….11-1-16-2

My projects feature the Bell Shaker Die Set and a mix of Mini Circle Shakers and Mini Merry Christmas Shakers.  A great way to give the new shaker dies and shaker pieces a try is to pick up the Bell Shaker Card Kit that provides all the pieces I used along with the acetate and foam.11-1-16-3

I used non-adhesive foam to create my shaker piece and my adhesive of choice is glossy accents because it goes on in a really thin layer and you can get the glue right up to the edges without having excess squeeze out on to the acetate.  Many different types of adhesive work for this, just experiment and see what works best for you.  Cheery Lynn carries double-sided adhesive foam as well.

There is a great shaker card video tutorial on the Cheery Lynn Blog that will take you through the steps if you have not assembled one before.

I also colored the edges of the foam with a Krylon 18kt Gold Leafing Pen.  Just be sure to ink the edges of the foam and set it aside to thoroughly dry.  Learn from my mistakes!  If you touch it before it dries, you will have gold on everything!  I also tried coloring the foam edges with Copic markers and that works fine too if you need a different color.  I just don’t like seeing the white foam.

I’m entering my card in the following challenges:
Next is my gift tag or holiday tree decoration.  It can easily work for either.  Love the shaker idea for a tag or an ornament.
11-1-16-5I topped off both my card and my tag/ornament with a gorgeous bow made on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using ribbons from the October Ribbon Club Assortment (which will be available through the end of November) from Really Reasonable Ribbon.   I love finishing off my projects with a pretty and festive bow.
