Hi friends. This week we have a great new Flower themed challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog. I hope you’ll head over and link up a project to share with us.
Today I’ve created a sympathy card using a great sentiment stamp called Invisible Tears from Quietfire Design.
My card features the Quadrafoil Square Doily from Cheery Lynn Designs which is one of my favorites and some handmade tea roses. I stamped the rose petals with an old script stamp and inked the edges before shaping them and assembling the layers.
I added a layer of white mulberry paper right above the card base to soften the look a little. To create this effect, just cut your mulberry paper a little larger than your finished dimensions, then use a paintbrush and water to wet a line where you want to tear the paper. When you tear, you will have a wispy, feathery edge on the paper.

I’ve topped off my card with a gorgeous bi-color double-loop bow made from 5/8″ Yellow Plaid Ribbon and 5/8″ Lemon Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The bow was created on my Bow-it-All Tool.
