Birthday Wishes

Today I’m sharing a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law.  We both have May birthdays and we are both the same age.  We just turned 21.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

My card features a couple of the wonderful dies from the Cheery Lynn Designs May New Release.  I just LOVE the Chevron A2 Frame.  I think it’s my new favorite frame die!  I’m also swooning over the new sentiment dies.  There are 6 new ones.  Two circles, two ovals and two squares.

My beautiful bi-color double-loop bow was made with 5/8″ Grape and Aqua Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon using my Bow-it-All V3.0.

Cheery Lynn Designs May NEW RELEASE Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs May New Release Blog Hop.
This release is a wonderful variety of designs so you must head over to check it out.  There is something to delight everyone!
If you arrived here from Corina’s blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.

At the end of the hop, be sure to leave a comment answering one or more of the questions on the Cheery Lynn Designs post for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

I kept my card pretty clean and simple to really showcase the beautiful Dahlia 3D Flower.  I used the flower to create my background which is slightly dimensional since I pulled the petals up a bit.  This is a four-piece die set with different sizes that can be used individually – the largest for backgrounds like I did or you can layer the different sizes to create beautiful dimensional flowers.

Really Reasonable Ribbon May Blog Hop

Welcome to the May RRR Blog Hop.
If you arrived here from Cheryl’s blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the RRR Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.
This month the Really Reasonable Ribbon Monthly Ribbon Club Assortment is a gorgeous collection of red, white and blue ribbons.

Not a member yet?  JOIN TODAY and begin with this fabby assortment which contains 9 styles and 18 yards of ribbon and trim.  Each month you will receive a color or holiday themed assortment.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try new ribbon styles.

My card is a pretty basic design.  I used the beautiful Lattice 3 die from Cheery Lynn Designs as the background with a blue layer and then a white mulberry paper layer before the card base.  Then I also layered my sentiment and placed it over a layered band of ribbon across the center of the card.
The card was topped with a beautiful bi-color double-loop bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 and I edged the bottom of the sentiment with some beautiful Trellis Roses and Open Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Now for my headband of the month…
This headband was created on a 1/2″ White Plastic Headband base using two of the ribbons from the May Ribbon Club assortment.  This is the Easy Woven Ribbon headband and it really is easy.  This is a great beginner headband.
