‘Orange’ You Glad it’s Autumn Themed Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hi there.  It’s time for another fun challenge over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog.

This time we have an ‘Orange’ You Glad it’s Autumn Theme and don’t forget to add ribbons or trims to your project.
I created a kanzashi flower using 1-1/2″ Grosgrain Ribbon in tangerine and black and 1-1/2″ Gingham Ribbon in orange from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This will be worn as a Halloween pin, but it could also easily be a hair clip.

For a video tutorial on how to create the single layer kanzashi petals, please click HERE.

Stay tuned for a video tutorial for the double-layer kanzashi petals soon!

Christmas Wreath Card

Hi friends.  Today I am sharing a Christmas card for inspiration.  No more procrastinating.  Time to get crackin’ on those holiday cards!  This week on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog, the design team will be featuring all their favorite Christmas dies.  Head on over each day though October 21st for new inspiration.10-15-16-1

My card today features some beautiful Christmas dies from Cheery Lynn Designs along with this fabulous Traditional Christmas Mix October Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.october2016lgeNot a member yet?
You will begin with this gorgeous holiday themed assortment that has 9 styles and 17 yards of ribbon and trim.
Each month you will receive a new color or holiday themed ribbon assortment.
What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try new ribbon styles.

10-15-16-2My card is a 5-1/2″ square card and I do have several layers including a pretty white mulberry paper layer at the bottom.  The inner white square that I placed the wreath on measures 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  That is layered on red and I trimmed a small border.  Below that you can see the Square Frame die in green which is mounted on a 4-1/8″ square of white cardstock.
I cut the wreath in emerald, dark green, and gold cardstock and then layered them all for added dimension.  I then cut some berries from red cardstock and added them throughout the wreath.  I topped it off with a pretty gold jingle bell and bow.  The corners are adorned with holly in red and green.

Cheery Lynn Designs Halloween Themed Challenge

Hi friends.  This week we have a great new Halloween themed challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog.  I hope you’ll head over and link up a project to share with us.10-13-16-2

I love the wonderful subtle texture you get by using the Large Parallel Rectangular Pierce Plate.  I use it quite a bit when a white background is just too plain.

My sentiment was cut in black and orange and layered to create the shadow effect.  I cut my pumpkins in orange, then added brown stems and backed them with yellow for a jack-o-lantern look.  I have some grass behind them.  My sentiment is up on foam tape and I shaped the bat wings a bit before adding the bats.10-13-16-3I added the boo sentiment and a scary ghost to the inside of my card.10-13-16-4

My bow was made on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using two styles of ribbon from the September Halloween Themed Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  If you missed out on this fun assortment, it’s still available through the end of October.
