Cheery Lynn Designs Flower Power Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs Flower Power Blog Hop.

If you arrived here from Cherry’s Blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.

Our blog hop today is all about FLOWERS.  I just love creating gorgeous three dimensional paper flowers and Cheery Lynn Designs has some wonderful flower dies.

I found the frame I used in the discount area at one of the chain craft stores and it’s been waiting for it’s moment to shine for a while now.  This blog hop was the perfect opportunity to pull it out and use it.

The lovely sentiment is a digital sentiment from the Graciellie Design ‘This Season’ set.

I created a base layer of greenery using the two flourishes and some of the foliage dies from the Floral Bouquet kit.  Then I created my flowers and added them on top.  My flowers were made using several distress ink papers I created which gives them a lot of depth and color.I will share one of my flower making video tutorials below.  You can find several more if you visit my YouTube channel.

Kanzashi Flower Hair Clips

Hi friends.  It’s been a while, but I’m back today with some Kanzashi hair clips to share.  These beauties are created with 1-1/2″ Grosgrain Ribbon and 1-1/2″ Gingham Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
I had hoped to have some new videos for you showing you how I made the slightly smaller petals for the top layer along with the best ways to cut your 1-1/2″ ribbon squares, but well….. it’s summer and there just isn’t enough time in the day!

I promise to have the new videos as soon as I can, but for now, keep practicing the basic petal – I have included the original video tutorial at the end of this post.  I can’t tell you how much my petals have improved with practice.  The more you practice, the more consistent they are and the better they look.
We are getting lots of new ribbons and other products in at Really Reasonable Ribbon as well.  Watch for a new ’embellishment’ category too on the RRR site soon!  I will be offering the larger hard to find sizes of half pearl and a lot of other embellishments that I know you will LOVE!

I’m entering my kanzashi flower in the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create #188 – Anything Goes
Crafting by Designs – August Anything Goes
Inspiration Destination #98 – Anything Goes
TTCRD – Anything Goes

If you would like to purchase the cross action tweezers I use in the video, here are some links:  I used Squadron Cross Action Curved Tweezer.  The Squadron Cross Action Straight Tweezer would work as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Happy crafting!
