Elegant Thank You Card

Hi friends.  Today I’m sharing a classy Thank You card that you can whip up relatively quickly with some fantastic dies from Cheery Lynn Designs and pretty ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbon.   It’s always good to have a few Thank You cards on hand ready to go.

My card is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ in size and I built up my usual layers.  For the top third of my card, I cut the Lattice #2 die and layered that over some cream cardstock.  For the bottom portion of the card base I let some pretty design paper do the work to save a little time.

I cut the Thank You Circle and layered that on cream, pink and teal and finally some natural mulberry paper at the base.  I used the different circle die sets to cut my circles in various sizes.

You can see I added a strip of Ankara Lace Border where the top and bottom pieces join together and I topped it with 3/8″ sherbet grosgrain ribbon to hide the seam.

The sentiment circle was added on top of that.

I topped my card off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using Sherbet Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon and Jade Diamond Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I also added 3 Half Pearls at the bottom.

Sweet Little Baby of Mine Card

Hi friends.  Today I have a pretty card for a baby boy featuring some of the new dies from the Cheery Lynn Designs Vintage collection.

This is one of those cards that I just couldn’t get right.  Honestly it almost ended up in the garbage, but I decided to share anyway.  Now I’m not saying it’s a disaster, but it just needs ‘something’ and I couldn’t pinpoint what.  And I really did try.  You have no idea how hard I tried!  I think it’s a color thing, but I could not resolve it to my satisfaction….
Anyway, I went with it anyway mainly because I love the background I created with the new Vintage Tile die and I wanted to show you how I did it.  I will be using this technique again for sure.
Cheery Lynn Dies used:

The flowers were cut, shaped and assembled using pieces from the Floral Bouquet kit and the flower centers are 10mm Flat Back Pearls.  The flowers were added to the card under the pram medallion.

I topped my card off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using Blue Topaz and Royal Blue 5/8″ Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  There is also a piece of Royal Blue Ribbon topped with Baby Feet Multi Grosgrain Ribbon running across the center of the card under the pram.

For a video tutorial on how I made this beautiful bow, please click HERE.

For the card background I created with the Vintage Tile die, I cut four tile pieces out of white cardstock that was backed with Stick It adhesive for ease of adhering it to the card.
Take two pieces and overlap them as shown above matching the center points on the sides.  I do this on a cutting mat so it’s easy to have everything properly aligned.  I have used low tack tape to hold the pieces.
Then I used my acrylic ruler and rotary cutter and cut right through the middle to they will align perfectly.
I used some of the quick drying Designer Dries Clear glue and glued the edges together and then I did this again with the other two pieces.
Then take the two groups of two pieces and align the same way matching the center points on the sides.  Align your ruler through the middle again and cut.
This will give you a large background perfect for a 5-1/2″ square card.  I love to find different ways to use my dies to stretch their functionality.  This makes it easier for me to justify my purchase.

Graciellie Design Inspiration Blog Hop

Can you believe it’s the middle of August already?  Today the design team from Graciellie Design is back with a little mid-month inspiration for you.

You should have arrived here from Arjeta’s blog.  If not, head back to the Graciellie Design Blog which is the beginning of the hop.
This gorgeous Magnolia Dreams Collection from Graciellie Design includes a digital stamp set, digital paper pack and an SVG set of 5 cuts that coordinate with each other.

I used my Silhouette to cut the beautiful background design for my card in bright pink cardstock and adhered it to a piece of shimmery white card stock.  I sized the sentiment from the Magnolia Dreams Digital Collection to fit in the oval die cut I selected and matted that with another oval and then a pierced stacker die.  I love using digital sentiments as I can change them to whatever size I want for my project.

I wrapped 5/8″ Misty Turquoise Shimmer Satin around the top third of my main panel and topped that with 3/8″ Hot Pink Diamond Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The sentiment panel was mounted over the ribbon with foam squares for a little dimension.
I had a few scrap pieces of digital paper that I printed from my first project (which you can view HERE) and I used that for the mat around my sentiment and to create my flower.  This is a great way to use up those little scraps you don’t want to throw away.
I topped my card off with a pretty bi-color bow that I created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using 5/8″ Turquoise and Shocking Pink Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The center of the bow is adorned with a pretty Heart Shape Flat Back Pearl Embellishment.
