Congratulations on Your New Baby Card

I was in the mood for some pinks and purples, so I whipped up a pretty card to welcome a new baby using some pretty dies from Cheery Lynn Designs along with pretty ribbon and embellishments from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I love to use a pretty frame die for my background and today I selected the ‘Quatrefoil A2 Frame 1’ die.  I layered that over a gorgeous piece of Distress Ink paper that I made using pinks and purples.
My pretty flower and foliage cluster was created with my all-time favorite ‘Floral Bouquet Kit’.  For the centers I used a Plush Covered Button on the large flower and some Gingham Covered Buttons on the smaller flowers which can both be found at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  These flowers are so easy to create.  Just cut them, do a little shaping of the leaves with a stylus and foam pad and then just stack them and add a center embellishment.

Sweet Little Baby of Mine Card

Hi everyone.  I’m still having fun with the Whimsical Delights dies from Cheery Lynn Designs that were released in June.  Today I’m sharing a cute baby card featuring several of the NEW dies.

I wanted to create a layered scene on this card and I really like the way this turned out.  This die release has lots of dies that work really well together.  That adorable giraffe is my favorite animal in this release!
Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
I cut most of the dies out in two or more colors and then cut and pieced them together putting the colors where I wanted them.  I also inked the edges of the animals and clouds to create depth.  The hills were just made fussy cutting some green cardstock and the grass was cut out in two colors and I offset and stacked them.  I tucked the animals in to the grass.  Isn’t that smiley sun die the best?!
I printed the digital sentiment with my computer and added it to the tag.  I embellished the tag with some pink and light blue Burlap String and I added a little miniature bow made with 1/8″ Pink Diagonal Stripe Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to the hippo.
I’m entering my card in the following challenges:

Dies:  Cheery Lynn Designs (see list above)
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Summer Sky, Bamboo Leaves, Lilac Posies, Sweet Plum; Distress Ink Victorian Velvet, Gathered Twigs
Adhesives:  Sick It, Scotch ATG, Designer Dries Clear Glue, E6000

Welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs June Blog Hop.
This release is a wonderful variety of designs so you must head over to check it out.  There is something to delight everyone!

If you arrived here from Ginny’s Blog, you are on the right track. If not, why not head back to the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss any of the terrific projects.

At the end of the hop, be sure to leave a comment answering one or more of the questions on the Cheery Lynn Designs post for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

The dies in this new release are just adorable!  I decided to create a baby card with the dies this time around.  Since the dies are whimsical, I thought I could get away with a pink elephant.  What do you think?

I used a new technique I saw posted by Jennifer McGuire on her blog here to create my shimmery pink elephant.  I switched up the directions a bit to use what I had on hand, but it worked great.
