Really Reasonable Ribbon April Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the April Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop. This month Really Reasonable Ribbon is teaming up with our friends from The Rubber Cafe.  If you arrived here from Irit’s Blog, then you are on the right track. If you just happened along, be sure to hop back to The Rubber Cafe Blog and start from the beginning so you don’t miss a thing.
This month we are showcasing the RRR April Ribbon Club Assortment

along with rubber stamps from The Rubber Cafe.  I selected the Floral Background stamp from The Rubber Cafe and I just LOVE it!!
I just love background stamps because they are so versatile.  I have two different cards I made using my stamp.
On my first card I used the stamp for my background.  I cut my white background paper in strips and used a couple of different colors of ink to make it more fun.   I created a quick ribbon flower using a 1″ XL Glue Dot and the pretty blue diamond satin ribbon from the April Ribbon Club Assortment.  The flower center is the pink ribbon tied in a double knot and hot glued to the middle of the flower.  I finished it off with a bow using the yellow ribbons.  This was a super-quick card.
Challenges for this card:
Mojo Monday #236 – sketch challenge
One Stop Craft Challenge #177 – Pastel and Die Cuts
For my second card I used the Floral Background stamp as my focal point.  I created a bow with the light orchid shimmer satin using my Bow Easy Tool and I ran a piece of the lavender vertical stripe grosgrain across the middle of the card.

Challenges for this card:
Paper Pretties Wednesday Challenge – PWC201 Use 2 different design papers
Allsorts Challenge week 149 Colour Bingo – I have pearls, stripes and pink
One Stop Craft Challenge #177 – Pastel and Die Cuts

I’m Feeling ‘Purple’ Today!

What??  Two posts in one day???  Unheard of!  Well, I’ve gotta craft when I can, so here you go.

I’ve been itching to try out my new Floral Background stamp from The Rubber Cafe.  I really love it.  Be sure to stop back on 4-13 for our Really Reasonable Ribbon Monthly Blog Hop to see another project with this stamp.  We will be teaming up with The Rubber Cafe in April and we’ll have lots of great projects to show you!

Hmmm, I’ve been doing quite a bit of monochromatic work lately.  I’ll have to try to change that up a bit soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Button & Bows Challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon!

It’s time for another fun challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings today.  The theme is Buttons & Bows.  I have two samples this time around.

First I made a card with one of my favorite color combo’s – black and white.  I just love the great contrast when you go with a basic black and white color theme.

Other Challenges for this card:
The Deconstructed Sketch – sketch #45
Stampin’ for the Weekend – Challenge 6 Anything goes

Supplies used:
Ribbon/Baker’s Twine:  Really Reasonable Ribbon
Stamp:  Inkadinkado
Ink:  Memento
Paper:  cardstock from my stash and design paper from Recollections
Other:  black pearls, Bow Easy Tool, Spellbinder nestabilities, button, cuttlebug embossing folder

Next I have a quick little set of bows on snap clips.

These were very quick and easy to make up.  I covered my 50mm snap clips with 1/4″ white grosgrain and I made the bows with my Bow Easy Tool using 7/8″ pink gingham.  Once the bows were done, I trimmed off the tail so it would not show.  I threaded a flower shaped brad though my botton holes and secured the brad to the button.  Then I glued the button to the bow and attached the bow to the snap clip.   This is a good project to use some of your shorter lengths of ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you’re inspired to join in our challenge this time around.  You have until 4-12 to link up your Buttons & Bows project.
