Hi everyone.  I’m thrilled to be the guest designer on the My Sheri CRAFTS Challenge Blog for the new bi-weekly challenge.

The theme this time around is Mother’s Day with Flowers.

I went with the fabulous color combination of Red and Turquoise which matches the color theme for the Really Reasonable Ribbon April Ribbon Club Assortment.  Isn’t is wonderful?!!
Not a member yet?  JOIN TODAY and begin with the wonderful color themed assortment which contains 9 styles and a total of 18 yards of ribbon.  What a fun way to build your ribbon stash and try out new ribbon styles.  TREAT YOURSELF TODAY!

It’s certainly not too early to begin your cards for Mother’s Day.  It’ll be here before you know it!
I used one of my favorite Cheery Lynn Designs border dies to create the background for this card.  It’s a 2″ wide border die, but I cut it twice, overlapped the seam and lining up the pattern.  Then I trimmed down the middle so it would fit perfectly together.  You can barely see my seam on the top and it’s disguised on the bottom with the Flourish die.
I created the beautiful roses with the small medium and large rose dies.  I cut the layers, inked the white layers with my old script stamp and inked the edges.  Then I shaped the petals and assembled the roses.  I do love to make paper flowers!
Cheery Lynn dies used:
I ran a strip of 5/8″ Turquoise Plaid Ribbon across the center of my card and topped it with the Red and Turquoise Diamond Print Grosgrain Ribbon both from the April Ribbon Club Assortment.
The beautiful bi-color double-loop bow was made with 5/8″ Red Houndstooth Plaid Ribbon from the April Assortment along with a piece of 5/8″ Red Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I created the bow on my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool.
